new york: we love it!

it’s just a few days now that we are here – enjoying new york, meeting our friends… and making music.
we’ve been to washington dc, invited by the austrian cultural forum – and performed in trio formation, just with dieter and harry. a great success, a wounderful, warm public welcoming us – we had full house (sold out!) – an amazing US-début! and visiting washington dc – feeling the architecture of power.

today it’s our first show in New York – at the Austrian Cultural Forum. No tickets available anymore. New York welcomes us!

Tomorrow, we’ll be at Joe’s pub – one of New York’s best locations  – you can imagine that we’re electrified!

Jazz á Carthage – c’était merveileux. nous avons adoré! we loved to play in tunisia! merci á nos ami(e)s tunésiens, á notre publique fantastique! danke Marion, für die tolle Unterstützung & Zusammenarbeit – un grand merci á l’ambassade d’Autriche et M. L’ambassadeur. “… Ce fut une effervescence de rhythmes et de sons qui a envahi l’espace et entraîné le public dans le „multi-rhythme“. …Célia Mara et ses musiciens ont enflammé la scène avec des compositions aussi étranges qu’entraînantes, aussi personnelles qu’ouvertes sur les musiques du monde…
Ainsi, avec Célia Mara, c’est un festival de sons qui a été proposé au public de Jazz à Carthage by Tunisiana. Les artistes se sont démenés sur la scéne, donnant lieu à une musique peu conformiste et non élitiste. Emanant d’une mémoire collective, s’abreuvant de tempos populaires et de rhythmes classiques, la musique de Célia Mara hèle aussi bien les favelas de l’Amerique latine que les rues enneigées des pays d’Europe; elle va au delá des frontières pour allier les rhythmiques particulères des peuples du monde et camper entre la tradition et la modernité. we arrived in brasil…

tropical rains, amazing panorama, 35 degrees and a burning sun… here we are. enjoying early summer in salvador, networking and meeting radio- and TV-makers, artists and people from the musicbiz. we assisted the forum “musica & tecnologia” and will participate to “mercado cultural” – so come and meet us there.
