A volta de Célia Mara no Brasil foi para atender ao convite do 2° maior festival do Brasil, o Festival de Verão de Salvador. Com um espetáculo bombástico, que foi desenvolvido em colaboração com o coreógrafo internacionalmente premiado Frank Handeler e a produtora Silvia Jura, Célia Mara inspirou a multidão, louca de dançar, com o seu brazilian bastardsound, grooves duros e conteúdos críticos!

Nesse momento, em Salvador os movimentos da sociedade civil – a exemplo do OCCUPY – estão se alinhando para acabar com a especulação imobiliária, as desapropriações arbitrárias e uso inadequado do espaço público. Em uma das suas músicas – reflexão sobre o Mercado Modelo – Célia Mara introduz esses slogans. Toda a área do comércio de Salvador é vítima da especulação imobiliária, até o Elevador Lacerda não ficou fora dessa ameaça de “privatização”!

Célia Mara’s viagem ao Brasil traz ainda mais novidades … Depois de um pocket show –voz & violão – aclamado no famoso Circo Voador /Rio de Janeiro, Célia fez a ponte direta para o Estúdio Móvel da TV BRASIL. A TV Brasil foi fundada em 2007, sob o governo de Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva como um serviço público de radiodifusão, em alternativa aos canais privados que monopolizam a informação/educação do povo Brasileiro. TV Brasil – der erste öffentlich rechtliche Sender Brasiliens…

	Und Célia Mara ist Gast… im Estúdio Móvel am 13.3.2012 / TV Brasil 16:00 New York // 18:00 Brasilia // 22:00 Wien

Im Jänner 2012 wurde Célia Mara zu Brasiliens zweit größtem Festival eingeladen – dem Festival de Verão de Salvador. Mit einer bombastischen Show, die in Zusammenarbeit mit dem international preisgekrönten Choreographen Frank Handeler und Produzentin und Konzeptionistin Silvia Jura in kürzester Zeit entwickelt wurde, konnte Célia Mara das tanzwütige Publikum mit brazilian Bastardsound, harten Grooves und kritischen Inhalten begeistern!
In Salvador formierte sich gerade die Zivilgesellschaft, um mit Immobilienspekulation, willkürlichen Enteignungen und zweckfremder Nutzung des öffentlichen Raums auf zu räumen. In der Show wurde das Thema aufgegriffen und mit Célia Mara’s Song Mercado Modelo verbunden. Hier ein paar Videoimpressionen dazu:

Célia Mara’s Brasilien Aufenthalt bringt aber noch mehr: … nach einem gefeierten Solo-Auftritt in Rio’s berühmten Circo Voador ging es direkt ins Estúdio Movel von TV BRASIL. TV Brasil und TV Brasil internacional wurde 2007 unter der Regierung von Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva als öffentlich rechtlicher Rundfunk in’s Leben gerufen, mit dem erklärten Ziel, der brasilianischen Bevölkerung besseren Zugang zu Bildung, Kultur und Information zu bieten. Estúdio Movel – von Montag bis Freitag on air – ist die Sendung, wo innovative Künstlerinnen und ihre Projekte vorgestellt werden.

“Chegou a hora do povo conhecer a musica de Célia, uma mensagem politizada, mostrando que possível fazer musica com personalidade, força, feminismos” diz Vilma Reis, uma das lideranças do movimento das mulheres negras de Salvador.
As musicas que Célia vai levar no palco são dedicadas a uma realidade diferente, são narativas musicais da história do Brasil, é um olhar critico sobre o mundo contemporaneo, as questões de injusticia social, ambiental, de politicas disumanas e de alegria sem conteudos… Célia Mara – cantora, compositora, armada de guitarra Godim – compoe as suas musicas sobre base brasileira num conceito global. É uma mistura de Samba, Maracatu, Baiao, Forro com Funk, Punk, Rock, Electônica, Jazz e World -  Musicas pra dançar! Um ritmo quente, invasivo… simplesmente bastardista!

Célia prepared a great performance and  will present on stage some of the best musicians and dancers of Salvador’s cultural scene.
The band was organized by Marcio Dhiniz (drums), bringing together great André Santana (Keyboards), Marcelo Rocha (Bass) and on vocals, percussion and trombone Sandra Coelho,  Lenny Oliveira,  Gilmar Chaves Cardoso,  Joana Boccanero and Kabo Duka! Woaw!!!!
We are specially happy to present our new collaboration with the international choreographer Frank Handeler – who is elaborating a performative interpretation of Célia’s songs together with the magnificent Norma Santana,  Lukas Tanajura, Stephanie Bangoura, Ricardo Stewart and Katharina Burger.

last but not least – we are very proud to have the support of FABIO VIDAL, Salvador’s best actor – and a documentation by Georg Tedeschi, international fotografer based in Hamburg.

TODAY, WE PARTICIPATED IN A BIG EDITORIAL IN BRAZIL – CONEXÃO VIVO – FOR A TOUR IN MINAS GERAIS, BAHIA AND PARA. WE’VE PUT A FEW SONGS FOR FREE DOWNLOAD, YOU CAN VOTE FOR US…(if it works…)

It made me feel back in Brazil again… and I was asking myself…  what kind of digital gap exists here?  I passed 3 month in digital desperation… trying to upload a pic … and it doe’snt work… or waiting for the blog which is not loading… or sitting in front of facebook – and it’s not opening…???!!! beside having problems with the major of Salvador, João Enrique, who wants to make a big desapropriation action in our neighbourhood, we had big communication problems… Maybe there is a connection?

We passed more then 3 month in Bahia with a mobile web – high speed ecc… and stopped bloggin, uploading, facebook ecc…

I’ve missed it.

Anyhow, now we’re back in Vienna – and back online. We had already a few very nice shows in Vienna and Burghausen… and are preparing ourselves for 2 tours in april… The new program with Benjamim Taubkin meus amores in Austria & Slovenia and Brazilian Bastardsound with Célia’s band in New York City… (by the way – it’s me: silvia…writing)
